Art without limits: the opening of the "Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" festival took place in Gubakha
On July 2nd, the XI theatrical landscape festival "Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" has been opened in Gubakha. This year, the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater became the special guest of the project. The opening of the festival was attended by more than 8 500 people.
The festival opened with the production of "The Light of an Extinguished Star". Two years ago, the Ufa troupe already performed at Krestovaya in the rain in difficult weather conditions. Artists from Bashkiria decided to repeat the experience, but with a good weather. This time everything worked out: the clear sky, the sunset rays of the sun, music and ballet fascinated the audience.

— "Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" is always a celebration. The spectators really missed such events. And finally, all pandemic restrictions have been lifted. It is as if the one-act ballet was specifically written for Mount Krestovaya. And I am glad that we managed to keep the promise made to the Bashkir Theater – to hold the opening without rain.
The "Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" festival is unique due to combination of the nature of the Perm Region and art. Its opening always takes place at sunset. Such a "mix" and a large share of unpredictability test the artists and directors for strength, and the audience is given incredible impressions which, much as one would like to, are impossible to repeat. Viewers return each year for these experiences of the beautiful in the moment.

— Eleven years ago, when we came up with this project, we didn't know where it would lead us. We are glad to see that every year the festival becomes an increasingly large-scale event. It is a great recognition and pride for each of us that a large number of spectators come to Gubakha every year.
The theatrical landscape festival "Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" will last until July 8th. Its program includes performances by theaters from Perm, Gubakha, Moscow, Chelyabinsk and Omsk.
"A decade has passed, and we realized that many cities and theaters want to participate in open-air festivals. Currently such events are becoming more and more popular, – notes Lyubov Zaitseva, the director of the festival. – This year, each theater plays two performances in different locations. I think it's great, and the teams will be able to show themselves from different perspectives".
On July 8th, at 23:00, the "Vetta" TV channel will show how the opening of the festival took place, including the production of "The Light of an Extinguished Star".

"Secrets of Mount Krestovaya" is a theatrical landscape festival. It has been held in Gubakha on Mount Krestovaya at the top of the Rudyansky Spoy ridge since 2012. The following establishments have performed at the Mount Krestovaya: the Perm academic opera and ballet theater named after P. I. Tchaikovsky, the Moscow theater of Alexei Rybnikov, the "Ballet of Yevgeny Panfilov" theater , the Perm Academic Theater-Theater.
