A Message to Future Chemists

A Message to Future Chemists

A time capsule was laid at the enterprise on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Metafrax Chemicals.

On the eve of the company's anniversary, three generations of its employees gathered at the intersection of two roads connecting the production facilities and workshops of Metafrax Chemicals: young specialists, experienced trainees and wise veterans.

The occasion, the 70th anniversary of the Gubakha Chemical Plant, wasn’t only uniting these chemists of different ages, but also connecting them with the future: the laying of a time capsule in the chosen landmark place.

Albert Khudaibirdin, Managing Director for Production:

"The place is monumental: the intersection of two roads, one of which once began the construction of the Gubakha Chemical Plant, and now it’s a crossroads connecting the old and the new, the present and the future, as it’s planned to build a new production facility nearby. This will be the next stage in the development of our company. We’ll emphasize the historical significance of this place once again by putting up directional signs with road names here. The history of the plant consisted not only of bright stages, there were also quite difficult periods, but people always proved with their work that there’s nothing impossible. Now the company's employees continue the fundamental traditions that were laid down by our veterans. The veterans see that the company isn’t standing still, its development continues, and Metafrax remains the flagship of the chemical industry, a world-class leader. I’m grateful to everyone for their daily work, and to the youth organization for their initiative."

The idea to send a message to colleagues in the future was born from activists of the youth organization. They placed a letter and a video message to their colleagues in the time capsule. As explained by Kristina Anisimova, chairman of the youth organization, this capsule will become a kind of bridge through the decades, a thread that will connect today's young employees and their peers in 30 years. In their message, they wished the future generation to work tirelessly, persistently acquire knowledge and experience, appreciate the contribution of veterans and multiply the traditions of the enterprise, be goal-oriented, brave and happy.

The time capsule was placed in a metal stele with the logo of the Gubakha Chemical Plant, which was created several decades ago. By the way, the company’s repair workshop remembers firsthand how it was assembled by cutting out metal letters, and the people who had their hands on making this sign (and the capsule too!) are still working in production.

Albert Khudaibirdin and Viktor Maier, Deputy Managing Director for Production, fixed commemorative plaques on top of the capsule. The wrench will now also go down in history, and Maria Konovalova, a member of the Legislative Assembly, handed it over to the local museum for storage.

The meeting was summed up by the veterans of the plant.

Lyudmila Krasnykh, Chairman of the Council of Veterans:

"We’re closely watching how Metafrax Chemicals is developing, and we’d like to wish that in the future both of us, who are currently working here, and the future generation of plant workers could always be proud of our company."

The time capsule will be opened in 30 years, on the 100th anniversary of the Gubakha Chemical Plant.
