A trip to Ancient Egypt
Immerse yourself in the mysteries of the enigmatic ancient civilization, look inside the pyramid, find out how the mummification ceremony took place, get acquainted with authentic artifacts dating back thousands of years – all this can be done in the Gubakha CUB Museum at the interactive exhibition "The Art of Eternal Life. Ancient Egypt."
This is the seventh exhibition within the framework of the educational project "Chemistry of Art", implemented by the Perm Art Gallery in partnership with the company "Metafrax Chemicals". The project is designed for a children's audience, but adults can always make new discoveries here. No doubt, this exhibition can also be called a family one, children might also want to take their parents and grandparents with them along on a tour.
"The Chemistry of Art project helps to introduce children to cultural subjects in a clear and fascinating way, to show the connection between science and art," Andrei Eremeev, Technical Director of Metafrax Chemicals, emphasized at the opening ceremony. – Each new exhibition within the framework of the project is a special atmosphere that promotes enlightenment and spiritual enrichment. We hope that such events will encourage children and their parents to visit museums and exhibitions. Gubakha is a small city, but people who live and work here should have the opportunity, without leaving its borders, to get acquainted with the unique exhibits and works of art of museums and galleries, to feel included in the cultural life of the region.
- Cooperation with Metafrax Chemicals is a dream partnership. We have common values and absolute trust. For five years now, we have been jointly implementing the Chemistry of Art project, and each new exhibition is also a mandatory introduction to the originals," said Ksenia Zubakina, curator of the project, a leading researcher at the Perm Gallery. - It's great that thanks to the project, thanks to the support of Metafrax, we can bring and show our exhibitions in other museums of the region.
Using various exposition techniques and methods, Ksenia Zubakina, together with colleagues Evgenia Naimushina and Artyom Kutergin, tried to make this exhibition bright and memorable for young and adult visitors. Here you can look inside the pyramid of Cheops, learn interesting facts about mummies, and take pictures with the Egyptian gods.
The exhibition tells about the culture, religion, and art of the ancient Egyptians, who were sure that after death a person continues to exist. And they carefully prepared for the transition to another world. Among the exhibits on display are authentic works of ancient Egyptian art from the collection of the Perm Art Gallery: bronze statuettes of the god Osiris and the goddess Isis, as well as objects of funerary worship – statuettes of Ushebti and the amulet "Eye of Ujat" from Egyptian faience.
The gallery has specially organized tactile exhibits for the children, which can and should be touched, opened, photographed with them. Children will easily find such exhibits, they are marked with a special sign - "palm". Such techniques allow children not only to observe, but also to actively participate in the process of studying ancient culture.
The first tour, conducted by Ksenia Zubakina on the opening day, gathered a lot of enthusiasm and positive feedback. The visitors highly appreciated the uniqueness of the exhibits and the interesting presentation of the material.
The exhibition "The Art of eternal life. Ancient Egypt" will be open until February 2, 2025. The museum invites everyone to visit this unique exhibition and plunge into the atmosphere of the distant past.
