A unique space for Perm University
The capabilities of the Center for Psychological and Pedagogical Assistance of the Perm State National Research University (PSNRU) have significantly expanded.
Armen Garslyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Metafrax Group", visited the PSNRU’s Center for Psychological and Pedagogical Assistance (CPPA). Together with Vladimir Malanin, the president of the university, and Dmitry Krasilnikov, the rector, the top manager of "Metafrax" took part in the official opening ceremony of a sensory room and an office for group forms of activities. A joint project with PSNRU aimed at expanding the capabilities of the Center was implemented with the support of Armen Garslyan, and funds for the equipment of the sensory room were allocated by "Russian Red Cross", the All-Russian Public Organization.
Due to repairs of the premises for group forms of activities, additional capabilities arose for conducting paired and individual consultations, group forms of activities, providing psychological assistance to students, teachers and university staff. Psychologists received a unique area for the implementation of physical psychological practices, since the office is equipped with a heated floor.
The sensory room, where the space is created according to special rules, is designed to restore vitality and to adapt after stress or heavy strains. As clarified by Svetlana Zhdanova, the Director of the CPPA, students and staff of Perm University can visit the sensory room by appointment as well as undergo individual and group consultations.
The Head of "Metafrax Group" highlighted the importance of the Center's work for the successful development of the university and noted the professionalism and passion of its employees.
- In any duty, the most important thing is not systems and processes, but people. If a person loves their duty, is involved in it, is not indifferent and competent – then the duty will be successful. — commented Armen Garslyan. – A unique team is working at the Center of Psychological and Pedagogical Assistance. I am glad that students and staff of Perm University have the opportunity to be here and receive psychological support.
Expansion of the capabilities of the CPPA is one of the components of a large–scale project for renovation of the entire PSNRU campus. It is also planned to construct a new building and other facilities, including sports facilities, within the territory of the university. In particular, two workout sites are expected to open in 2023. The historical buildings of the university are to be reconstructed and visually restored as part of the project. In addition, the plans include landscaping and planting of greenery at the campus territory.
