Dialogue on ageless themes
Graduates of the "Women in art" program will present an instrumental and choreographic performance at the Diaghilev Festival.
Diaghilev Festival-2023 is holding registration for participation in the Educational Program. The main topics of this year will be old and modern music, the legacy of Stravinsky, the search for relevant ways in education and musicology. Students and teachers of art universities and music schools can take part in the program. Participation in the Educational Program is free; the festival provides accommodation in Perm. Musicians, composers and artists, who are participating in the festival, conduct lectures and workshops.
This year, the Educational program of the Diaghilev Festival will be held for the seventh time and will propose new formats, themes and events. In particular, as part of the "Women in art" program, violinists and clarinet players — graduates of the last year's program — will present an instrumental and choreographic performance titled "In circles". During the performance, musicians are looking for new formats of dialogue with the public as well as conversation on ageless topics. The "Women in art" program is traditionally held with the personal support of Seifeddin Rustamov, the beneficial owner of "Metafrax Group". In addition, students will go on a concert tour of the Perm region as part of the project.
— We have been supporting the Educational program of the festival for six years, - said Maria Konovalova, the Director of Strategic Communications at "Metafrax Group", - The focus of the philanthropic initiatives of "Metafrax Group" is specifically on the educational areas in art. The uniqueness of the "Women in art" program is in the focus on women of rare professions in art. The results exceed expectations: several experimental productions have already appeared per results of the program.
In addition, the activities of the Educational Program include: "Laboratory of historically informed performance", "RE" – an event dedicated to the music of past eras, "The Beginning" - a program for piano teachers in children's music schools, a course for teenagers of 12-16 years old titled "Music through your eyes" and "Musical graphic series". The Diaghilev Festival-2023 under the artistic direction of Teodor Currentzis will present first performances of operas, a series of experimental plastic and theatrical performances, and concerts of classical and alternative music. The festival club will start its work on June 22nd; the main festival program will open on June 23rd.
