One Step Ahead of the Threat

One Step Ahead of the Threat

Rescuers from the Metadynea emergency rescue unit conducted training sessions on radiation, chemical and biological protection on the enterprise territory in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow region.

Regional resources were involved in the training at the industrial site. Representatives of the Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Moscow region, specialized institutions of the city of Moscow, Moscow, Ivanovo and Vladimir regions also participated.

During the training, rescuers practiced joint actions in emergency situations at chemical industry facilities. The entire response scenario was reproduced, from detecting the source of danger to eliminating the consequences. The participants conducted a reconnaissance of the area, extinguished simulated fires, evacuated the injured, cleared the rubble and checked the territory for radiation, chemical and biological threats.

Denis Gerasimov, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Department at Metadynea:

“In total, more than a hundred specialists and over ten pieces of equipment participated in the training. We held the event at the request of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Moscow region, in addition to the approved schedule. The unscheduled training makes it possible to test all elements of the response system in action, from communications and logistics to coordination of the services involved.”

Rescuers checked a robotic complex for engineering works and rubble clearing. If there’s a risk of structural collapse, the robot takes on the most dangerous tasks. It’s controlled remotely at a distance of up to a kilometer. This helps to avoid a threat to rescuers and allows you to save the most important thing: the life and health of people.

Andrei Zharkov, Head of the Emergency Rescue Coordination Department of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Moscow region:

“The tasks have been completed, the goals have been achieved. The results obtained will be used to clarify regulations and improve the procedures for services in possible emergencies at industrial facilities. Even with the demonstrated level of training, it’s important to constantly improve the mutual aid system.”

In July 2025, the Metadynea emergency rescue unit successfully passed certification, confirming its readiness to respond to natural and man-caused emergencies and compliance with legal requirements.
