A Celebration of Living Creativity
In the Year of the Family, an acute social musical of the Perm Academic Theater-Theater "Good Luck, Mark!" opened the festival “Secrets of the Krestovaya Mountain”, which takes place annually in Gubakha with the support of Metafrax Chemicals.
The XIII theatrical landscape festival “Secrets of the Krestovaya Mountain” takes place in the natural locations of Gubakha and its surroundings from June 28 to July 3, 2024. Traditionally, the festival opened with the project "Sunset on the Krestovaya Mountain". On Saturday, June 29, the Perm Academic Theater-Theater presented the play "Good Luck, Mark!" at the Rudyansky mountain range.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Konstantin Anufriev, Director for Organizational and HR policy at JSC Metafrax Chemicals, stressed that the festival “Secrets of the Krestovaya Mountain” is a notable cultural event not only at the regional, but also at the All–Russian level. He thanked the management of the Roschem holding and personally its Director Eduard Davydov for supporting the festival and many other cultural, charitable and social initiatives in the territories of presence:
“In Gubakha, with the support of Metafrax, the festival has been held since 2012 and has long become traditional. The festival gives the town residents an opportunity to see the performances of advanced theater groups from various regions and countries in the picturesque scenery of the Ural nature. In addition, the festival attracts connoisseurs of theatrical art to Gubakha, promotes the development of tourism, as well as the fame of Gubakha and its unique culture far beyond the Perm Territory."
Maria Konovalova, Chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, Director of Strategic Communications at JSC Metafrax Chemicals, noted that the festival was originally planned as an experimental space for advanced theater groups:
“Real art is always a celebration of living creativity, the search for unusual solutions and formats.The project “Sunset on the Krestovaya Mountain 2024” is an experiment again. This year we showed an acute social musical about the relationship between children and parents, human values and the identity crisis. In the Year of the Family announced by the President of Russia, it seemed important for us to address this topic, and to talk about it in the most relevant language of modern theater."
More than 8 thousand viewers watched the musical "Good Luck, Mark!" on the Krestovaya Mountain. A live broadcast was also organized on the VETTA 24 TV channel.
Armen Garslyan, member of the festival’s organizing committee, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Perm Territory, said that more than 120 thousand guests had visited the project “Sunset on the Krestovaya Mountain” in its entire history. He thanked the audience, the organizers of the festival: Lyubov Zaitseva, artistic director of the chamber drama theater "Dominanta", Boris Milgram, artistic director of the Perm Academic Theater Theater, Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of the Kama Region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Perm Territory.
“It’s very good that such a large number of guests came to our festival today, despite the unfavorable weather forecasts that didn’t come true. This is important for the town’s development. We’re holding a festival for people and we’re happy to see that the most loyal and devoted viewers of the festival are here again. Every year Gubakha becomes more beautiful. There’s everything here for residents of the Perm Territory and the whole country to come here."
In addition to the Perm Academic Theater-Theater, the program of this year's festival includes performances by eight creative teams from Gubakha, Berezniki, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Astrakhan, as well as Yerevan.
