A holiday for all generations

A holiday for all generations

Miner's Day and the 225th anniversary of the Kizel coal basin were widely celebrated in Gubakha, Kizel and Gremyachinsk.

Festive events in the towns and settlements of Kizel coal basin lasted for two days. Residents and coal industry veterans were congratulated by Armen Garslyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Metafrax Chemicals" PJSC and deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Perm region, by Maria Konovalova, the adviser to the Head of the Board of Directors of the company and deputy of the regional parliament, and by Aleksey Mazlov, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Kama Region.

On August 27th, they took part in a memorial event at the miner monument in Gremyachinsk. After that, they held a meeting with the public, where they discussed topical issues that are of concern to residents, answered questions from citizens. In Gubakha, the deputies visited a number of socially significant facilities of the municipal district and congratulated veteran miners at the "Energetik" DC, where a concert "From Coal to Metal" was held in honor of a professional holiday. Kizel traditionally celebrated the anniversary date with the "Cup in Kizel coal basin" football tournament. This competition was founded several years ago upon an initiative of Armen Garslyan.

In the field of the "Miner" stadium, the teams of Kizel, Gubakha, Gremyachinsk and Gornozavodsk fought for victory. The front-runners of the last season, athletes from Gremyachinsk, remained in fourth place this time. The victory was won by the Kizel team. It became a real gift to the fans for the anniversary of the local team - "Miner" turned 70 years old. The second place was taken by the football players of Gornozavodsk, the third one – by players of Gubakha. The sports celebration in Kizel was followed by a musical concert by artists of the Perm Provincial Orchestra.

Armen Garslyan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Metafrax Chemicals" PJSC:

- Miner's Day is the most sincere holiday within the territory of Kizel coal basin. I think that it is being celebrated even warmer and better here than in places where the mines are operational. For us, it is particularly dear - it is the memory of the heroic work of the miners. It may be a little sad, but this also makes the holiday native and uniting for the generations. Our task is to do everything so that the holiday continues to live and is taken up by active youth.

The first gallery titled "Zaprudnaya" was founded in 1797 on the shore of Kizelovsky Pond. It was the beginning of the development of coal reserves in the Kizel basin. For many decades before the closure of the mines, the coal industry has been the main, city-forming industry for the towns of Kizel basin.
