In Perm, the winners of the Big Olympiad of the Russian Chemical Industry were awarded.

On June 5, the Student Palace of Culture of Perm State National Research University (PSNRU) hosted the awarding ceremony for the winners of the Ruschem Big Olympiad in Chemistry and Chemical Technology for schoolchildren in grades 7-11.

The ceremony took place within the framework of the traditional festive event "Golden Flask", dedicated to the Chemist's Day. Diplomas and valuable gifts – tablets, smart speakers and stations, as well as certificates for participation in an online educational course - were presented to the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad by Maria Konovalova, Director for Strategic Communications at Metafrax Chemicals, and Mikhail Zubarev, Deputy Head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Technology and Technosphere Safety, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor.

Maria Konovalova congratulated the winners and prize–winners of the Olympiad, thanked the management, teachers and students of the Faculty of Chemistry of Perm University for their participation in the preparation and holding of the Big Olympiad of the Russian Academy of Chemical Sciences, teachers and parents for training talented children - the future of our country.

- Popularization of chemistry, including organic chemistry, is a global task for Metafrax Chemicals and the Russian Chemical Holding. We share this common task and solve it comprehensively, including through the Olympiad for schoolchildren. In addition, there is much more in the career guidance system. For example, regular internships at the enterprise for college and university students, participation in the federal project "Professionalitet", chemical classes in schools and kindergarten in Gubakha, which we also focus on chemistry, so that from a very young age the child becomes interested and understands that the profession of a chemist is honorable, interesting and in demand, - said Maria Konovalova.

Diplomas of the winners of the Big Olympiad of the Russian Chemical Industry were awarded to: Maxim Malgin from secondary school No. 132,Perm; Elizaveta Timush from the specialized educational and scientific center of the Ural Federal University (SUNC UrFU), Yekaterinburg; and Ramil Khatbullin from Lyceum No. 14., Izhevsk.

The following schoolchildren were among the winners of the Olympiad: Egor Kolesnikov from gymnasium No. 5,Perm; Andrey Bryukhov from secondary school No. 12, Perm; Vladimir Kurbatov from secondary school No. 24, Perm; Anastasia Zalyaeva fromsecondary school No. 132, Perm; Alexander Yakovlev from secondary school No. 12, Perm; Anfisa Trubina and Tatiana Naumova from Lyceum No. 2, Perm; Veronika Solomennikova from the Tchaikovsky Gymnasium in Perm Region; Konstantin Bayankin from secondary school No. 1, Alapaevsk, Sverdlovsk region; Sergey Borisov from secondary school No. 14 (NEC), Gubakha, Perm Region.

Memorable valuable gifts were presented to the teachers who prepared the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad. Marina Zheludkova, Elena Demidova, Irina Zotina, Elena Koroleva, Elena Rusetskikh, Tamara Sarapulova and Marina Smirnova were invited to the stage.

More than six thousand schoolchildren from 36 regions of Russia took part in the Ruschem Big Olympiad. More than 800 children who showed the best results went to the theoretical round. The competition ended with a practical round. 280 schoolchildren from all over Russia completed assignments in the laboratories of universities and colleges in the cities where Ruschem operates. In the Perm Region, the Chemical Faculty of PSNIU and the Ural Chemical Technology College in Gubakha became the venues of the Olympiad.

"The tasks of the Ruschem Olympiad focused on solving problems related to real production processes," said Ramil Khatbullin, one of the winners of the competition, "It was interesting. The experience gained at the Olympiad may be useful in the future. Participation in it provides something new, opens up the opportunity to go further into the chemical industry.
