On September 1, Knowledge Day, first-year students of the Ural Chemical Technology College (UCTC), teachers and guests gathered for a traditional celebration assembly dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year.
The event began with a welcoming speech by Alexei Nazarov, College Director, who congratulated everyone present on Knowledge Day and emphasized the importance of professional education for future specialists in the chemical industry. Konstantin Anufriev, Director for Organizational and HR policy at Metafrax Chemicals, addressed the students with parting words and wishes for successful study. The company has remained the primary social partner of the college for many years, and also acts as the main employer within the framework of the federal project "Professionalitet":
“Dear first–year students, I congratulate you on a new stage in your life: admission to one of the best educational institutions of secondary vocational education in our country, the Ural Chemical Technology College. For many years, the college has been the main forge of personnel for our company. I hope you’ll become worthy successors of previous graduates. I wish you good luck and success in your study, so that you grow up to be worthy professionals and tradition successors of our chemical town.”
This year, 176 first-year students began their career at the Ural Chemical Technology College in the profile of "Chemical technology for the production of chemical compounds", "Installation, maintenance, operation and repair of industrial equipment", "Technology of analytical control for chemical compounds", "Welder" and "Cook, confectionary, baker". The highest average score of the certificate (4.9) among all applicants was shown by Maria Plyasunova, who had the honor to ring the first bell at the ceremonial assembly.
Also on this exciting day, the first-year students were greeted by Yulia Galimova, Deputy Сollege Director for Academic Affairs, and Anastasia Rogova, head of the student council and ambassador of the Professionalitet project. After the assembly, the students had a form-class, a college tour and received gifts from Metafrax Chemicals.
On this day, students of the Kizel Polytechnic College, where specialists in the profile of "Operation and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical equipment" are being trained for the company, didn’t remain without attention from Metafrax. Dmitry Kuryshev, Chief Power Engineer of the company, congratulated teachers and students on Knowledge Day, wishing them success in mastering the profession and expressing confidence in further fruitful cooperation between the company and the college.
