Innovation and efficiency

The delegation of Metafrax Chemicals took part in the convention titled "Syngas Nitrogen. Russia and CIS".
As part of the business program, top managers of Metafrax Chemicals spoke at a plenary session and a process round table discussion dedicated to key issues of industry development, innovation, digitalization of processes and sustainable growth of the gas chemical sector.
The convention brought together more than 250 participants – leading manufacturers of nitrogen, methanol, ammonia and mineral fertilizers from Russia and CIS countries, representatives of regulatory authorities, and suppliers of technologies and equipment.
At the event, Metafrax was represented by Andrey Eremeev, Technical Director, Ivan Feoktistov, Director of Strategy, Aleksey Dolganov, Director of the AUM plant, and Evgeny Gavrilov, Head of the Project Office for Strategy.
The event became a platform for discussion of strategic issues of industry development, innovation, digitalization and improvement of efficiency of production processes. The focus was held on the sustainable development of gas chemistry as an economy driver in the current conditions.
Evgeny Gavrilov acted as a moderator of the plenary session titled "Can gas chemistry become one of the drivers of Russian economy’s development?". Ivan Feoktistov delivered an opening speech on behalf of Metafrax Chemicals. In his speech, he drew the attention of the participants to the current market challenges and noted the need to maintain a balance of interests between the initiators of development projects, suppliers of raw materials for these projects and engineering companies for the purposes of sustainable development of the industry as a whole.
At a process round table discussion dedicated to scaling and adaptation of process solutions, Andrey Eremeev shared the practical experience of Metafrax Chemicals in revamping of production processes. Metafrax Chemicals has large methanol processing capacity in Russia; in addition, it is a company that uses the latest energy-efficient technologies, such as the recovery of hydrogen from the purge gases of methanol production, with its subsequent transfer to ammonia production, and the recovery of CO2 from the flue gases of reforming furnaces at atmospheric pressure with transfer of the target product for urea synthesis. These technologies require a special attitude of the operating personnel and a special production culture. The current issues that arise during the operation of this equipment were also covered.
The participants were particularly interested in the topics of strategic planning, increasing the financial stability of investment projects, interaction with research organisations and the role of catalysts in process chains - from laboratory research to large-scale industrial applications.
An award ceremony was held according to the results of "Syngas Nitrogen 2025" convention, during which Metafrax Chemicals received an award in the "Expanding Sale Horizons" category for actively promoting products and developing new destinations for sales.
